Frequently Asked Questions (PTU)

Anchor1. Can I change the training site?

Yes, the training site can be changed during the permitted period, which is one week after announcing the initial schedules. The form for this purpose must be completed online.

Anchor2. Can I change the training site after the permitted period?

The training site cannot be changed after the permitted period has passed. The change will only be permitted for emergency cases by submitting the related form online. The student must attach an official document explaining their emergency, accompanied by their training schedule. The request will be presented and discussed during the next scheduled training committee. Note that non-emergency cases will be dismissed from the beginning and will not be presented to the committee.

Anchor3. Can I be trained in a site outside the approved list?

Yes, the related form must be completed during the registration period. The student must write the official email address of the external training site on the form. A letter will be sent to the external training site afterward, and the EEO will only allow a period of two weeks to obtain a response from them. When the external training provider rejects or when a response is not received from them within the specified period, the EEO will place the student in the internal training sites approved by the college.

Anchor4. From where can I obtain forms related to the internship?

All forms are available on the college website, under Student Forms.

Anchor5. Why was I assigned to a training site that I did not choose in the preferences form?

Placement of students in the training sites is conducted according to the student GPA and vacant places in the training facility. When a requested training facility is already filled, the second desire is considered, then the third desire, etc. When all training sites selected by the student in the preferences form are filled, the training sites will be selected by the EEO. The decision of site selection takes into account, as much as possible, the location of the student site selection.

Anchor6. Can I be trained in Nahdi pharmacies?

Yes, community pharmacy is one of the required rotations. Because of the cooperation between the College of Pharmacy at King Khalid University and Nahdi pharmacies, it is considered one of the main options for students for community pharmacy rotation.

Anchor7. Do I need a notice letter of starting internship at the beginning of each rotation?

No. The EEO needs a notice letter of starting internship for the first rotation only. If it is not sent within the first week of the first rotation, the internship stipend will be delayed and may not be paid in full.

Anchor8. The preceptors at the training site informed me that they did not receive the student names list; what should I do?

Please contact the EEO at EEO.Pharmacy@kku.edu.sa and mention in your email the official email address of the training facility so that intern list can be resent to them.
