Welcome to the College of Pharmacy website!
As Dean of the College of Pharmacy, I am proud to lead a dynamic and dedicated team of faculty, staff, and students who are committed to excellence in education and research. Our goal is to prepare the next generation of pharmacists to be leaders in their field and to make a positive impact on the health and well-being of the communities they serve.
The College of Pharmacy offers a rigorous and comprehensive PharmD curriculum and graduate programs that combine classroom instruction with hands-on experience and opportunities for interdisciplinary learning. Our faculty members are experts in their fields and provide a supportive and engaging learning environment for our students. We are also committed to advancing the field of pharmacy through research and collaboration. Our faculty members are involved in a wide range of research projects, and our students have the opportunity to be involved in research as well.

About the Dean
Dr. Yahya Almuawad received his Bachelor of Pharmacy from King Khalid University in 2008. Following graduation, he worked as a teaching assistant in the Pharmacology Department until receiving his PhD in Pharmacology in 2018 from the Department of Anesthesiology, Pharmacology, and Therapeutics, Faculty of Medicine, University of British Columbia. Dr. Almuawad is an associate professor in the Department of Pharmacology and has held numerous administrative positions at the college. In 2018, he was appointed as the head of the Pharmaceutical Chemistry Department and the supervisor of the Guidance and Counseling Unit. In addition to his work, Dr. Almuawad was appointed as acting head of the Department of Pharmacognosy in 2019. He was then named Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, a position he held until his appointment as Dean in 2022. Dr. Almuawad published many articles in prestigious peer-reviewed journals. His research interest includes neuropharmacology, drug discovery, and preclinical model development.
