The College of Pharmacy, represented by the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, conducted an initiative to produce multi-purpose sanitizers (hand and surface sanitizers). Dr. Yahya Muawad, head of the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry and supervisor of the initiative, explained that this initiative came from the college's desire to supply the university with some of its needs from sanitizers. This initiative also aimed to hone students' pharmaceuticals formulation skills and raise their awareness about volunteering and community service.

Currently, He is a professor at the college of pharmacy at King Saud University with more than 17 years of experience in the fields of pharmaceutical research, R&D, pharmaceutical technical operations, business and markets developments, economics, and markets of pharmaceutical industries. He was a biotechnology incubator consultant for Riyadh Techno Valley company in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Also, he was the VP for Tabuk Pharmaceuticals company heading their technical operations.  
The College of Pharmacy and KKUx are announcing the release of the preparation course for the Saudi Pharmacist Licensure Examination (SPLE) at no cost for 3 months. The course contains more than 500 education videos with a duration exceeding 4500 minutes. The course materials were prepared by 28 experts in the field of pharmacy.   The course objectives are to prepare the students to SPLE, explain the exam procedures, provide proper references, and review the basic concepts in the biomedical and pharmaceutical sciences, in accordance to the licensure exam structure and sections. The course also includes tests before and after completing the course that provide a detailed report of the student performance.   The course will be available on May 1, 2020, and it can be accessed through kkux.org  
  During the Pharmacy Career Day 2020, the College of Pharmacy has signed seven agreements and memorandums of understanding with governmental and private sectors, including: Nahdi Medical Company Al-Dawaa Medical Services Co. Jamjoom Pharma Abha Chamber of Commerce and Industry Khamis Musahyt General Hospital Saudi German Hospital Abha Private Hospital The areas of collaborations focused on improving the educational and training process, cooperation in the fields of research and community activities, and improving the skills of interns based on the needs of of the market and in accordance with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's strategy (Vision 2030) to enhance cooperation between governmental and private sectors.
