“Your Health in Your Pocket”
The Clinical Pharmacy Department at the College of Pharmacy organized a digital health awareness initiative entitled “Your Health in Your Pocket” at the College of Pharmacy, Guraiger Campus. The initiative aimed to promote digital health literacy and encourage the safe and effective use of modern digital health technologies and applications.
The initiative addressed several key aspects of digital health, including selecting appropriate healthcare services based on individual needs, using artificial intelligence tools responsibly to access health information, utilizing smartphone applications to manage medication schedules and reminders, and storing essential medical information on smartphones for easy access during emergencies.
The event featured educational booths, interactive activities, digital health games, and live demonstrations of digital health technologies. One of the highlights was a digital diabetes management application developed by Dr. Ayesha Shafeeq, a faculty member in the Clinical Pharmacy Department.
This initiative forms part of the College of Pharmacy’s efforts to promote health literacy, raise awareness of the safe and effective use of digital health technologies, and encourage the adoption of innovative digital solutions that contribute to improving the quality of healthcare.
